The most natural way of exploring the wonders of Himalaya is trekking. Trekking infuses a feeling of comradeship, self reliance besides inculcating a sense of perseverance. The vast expanse to the highest mountain chain, sheer magnitude of its snowy heights and indefinable feeling of joy and elation that they evoke in the mind of a trekker, make a trek in the Himalaya an experience to be remembered. Pack up your rucksack for the thrill and join Trek India's 7 days sojourn in one of the most romantic valleys – Manali, nestled in two beautiful ranges- Pirpanjal and Dhauladhar of western Himalaya in Himachal Pradesh. Picture postcard perfect Manali, with its fertile valleys, imposing forests and fast flowing rivers set against the backdrop of high- clad mountains provides everything that an adventure seeking youth desires.

THE SCHEDULE

Day 1  : Arrive at the base camp Kalath ( Approx. 5800 feet ). Allotment of tents, relax and free time till lunch. Briefing of the programme, Do's and Don't's, Mountain etiquette . Camp fire after dinner.

Day 2  : Starts with morning exercises followed by a healthy breakfast. Then we'll take you for an acclimatisation walk to a village to give you an exposure of local life and culture. Post Lunch at the base camp, preparations of the trek. We'll close the day with an adventure movie and camp fire after dinner.

Day 3  : Trek To Boggi: ( Trekking time:4–5hrs.)

An uphill trek till the temple of Naag Devta, through the village Jagatsukh and Bhanara and then a gradual uphill trek through the forest of cedar, takes us to a beautiful campsite at Boggi. Overnight at camp.

Day 4  : Trek to Jamaree Dhar :  ( Trekking time: 4-5hrs..)

Initially a gradual uphill trek  till the meadow Tilgan Thach and then through the boulders Camp on an alpine pasture Jamaree Dhar, wherefrom a chain of snowcapped mountains gives a visual feast. Overnight at camp.

Day 5  : Trek To Sarotu : (Trekking time 4-5 hrs.)

Trek through the snow slopes to beautiful pasture Sarotu. Overnight at Camp.

Day 6  : Trek to base camp Kalath : ( Trekking time : 4-5 hrs. )

Descending down the lush green pastures of Sarotu, trek passes through the spectacular village Sethan, Chhalet and Prini. Our vehicles will pick you up from the village Prini. Reach at Base camp Kalath, by lunch time.

Day 7  : Check out after breakfast.   

Fee:  Rs. 4500  /- per person.

Fee covers:
The fee covers the boarding and lodging in tents, training, supervision and equipment .

When can you join:
The first group will report at base camp, Kalath on 1st of April and last on 30th June, 2012.

How  to Participate:
Kindly contact us for the application form or you can download from our website www.trekindiamanali.com and forward along with the demand draft of the fee, favouring Trek India Outdoors Pvt. Ltd., payable at Manali.

How  to  reach:
The base camp, Kalath is located 6 kms. short of  Manali.  Manali is about 560 kms. from Delhi. There are overnight buses from Delhi. Semi deluxe, deluxe, air-conditioned and Volvo buses are available. Bhuntar which is 50 kms. short of Manali is connected by air.

Participants  please  note:
The Programme schedule can be changed due to the unforeseen circumstances. In case of any illness during the expedition, the expenses for medical treatment, travel and porter etc. to be borne by the concerned individual. Alcohol consumption is prohibited during the camp. Trek India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness or such unforeseen events during the expedition. Primary medical facilities will be available, wherever, possible. Participants will be presented certificates only on successful completion of the expedition. During the expedition the decision of the Camp Director will be final and binding.

Cancellation  and  Refund:
If cancelled 15 days before date of reporting 50% will be refunded. Less than 15 days before date of reporting- no refund please.

You  should  bring  the following:
Cotton shirts, cotton pants, woollen pullover, jacket, muffler, woollen cap, cotton and woollen socks, trekking shoes, gloves, light towel, chappals, light rain coat or plastic sheet, sunglasses ( other than blue colour ), torch with cells, water bottle, electoral powder, lunch box, petroleum jelly/ vaseline/ cold cream, toiletries, needle with thread, ball point pen, a notebook, personal medical kit, soap etc.
